Today I am writing to tell you about my favourite tree, the Oak. We don’t have many trees except for the palm where we live so I haven’t been able to physically show you one of them in the six months you’ve been in my life. But, I promise to show you one soon. Why is the Oak so special?
The mighty oak for many generations now has stood as a symbol of strength and survival. It is not a tree that bends to the will of winds or thunder and always stands its ground. In times of adversity whether in your life or in the life of those who love, remember to be the oak. The tree that people can lean on and safely seek shade under knowing that it will protect them and more importantly that it will survive to go on another day.
Did you know that the Oak tree’s roots reach as far into the ground as it branches reach to the heavens? These strong roots are what allows it to spread upwards into skies without hesitation. Be like an Oak my son and ensure that you never forget about your roots. The time you take in cultivating them and in revisiting them from time to time is what will help you as you soar towards your dreams. By staying humble about your roots you will ensure you don’t stretch to the skies too soon and this in turn will ensure you don’t topple over when it becomes hard to balance life’s priorities.
It is difficult to trace the history of the Oak because they have a vast variety of species and grow in numerous climates. Be versatile like the Oak, my son. As you grow and achieve your dreams, make sure you also provide shade to those who need it just like the Oak does – not just the wild animals in the jungle you life in but also the kids in the park. More importantly don’t get stuck in your ways and keep growing no matter how the climate changes. There are always numerous ways of achieving our goals and just because you didn’t get there the first few times you tried doesn’t mean you won’t get there at all.
The Indian Oak tree, also called Teak or Saag is one of the most popular woods used for furniture. Saag is considered to be a wood that lasts for generations and one whose value increases over time. Be like this Oak my son. In your time on this planet, create a legacy of good thoughts and deeds that last even after you are long gone so that people continue to value you and the work you’ve done even in your absence.
That’s all for now.
